K ❤️s KK.

One of my most favorite part of a recent vacation is how we really connected with the locals and became friends with our tour guides. I love how friendly the strangers are, how they guess if we're from Manila and welcome us because it's our first time. I love how we can ask a random person on the street for directions, how easy it is to order food in the restaurants, how carefree we can be even if we're walking the streets late at night. I love how our guides laugh with us when we sing. I love how we sing without care and how they sing with us while cruising the zigzags of the mountains or paddling through the calm Kiulu. I love how they love our silly antics and how they have their own, jokingly pushing us when we're at a cliff or off our guard in the river. I love teaching and learning languages, speaking in English with bits of local words or calling one of our guides kuya and teaching him to ask bakit. I love how on top of a hill, basked in the hot afternoon sun and strong breeze, we watch paragliders and talk about life in two countries - how similar and different they are, laughing through jokes we throw in every now and then. I fell in love with all the places we went to and the adventures we had the first time to try, but I will really treasure how we have connected with the people. I love how in visiting a new country, we have also made new friends.
